Irfana is a rapper and songwriter from Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, whose work has grown from a foundation in Carnatic music, Western classical trumpet, poetry, and hip-hop. While those influences remain part of her musical vocabulary, rap and songwriting sit firmly at the centre of her current work.
Swadesi is a Mumbai-based collective of socially conscious rappers whose multilingual sound brings together traditional influences, folk, and bass music with the global language of hip-hop. From ‘The Warli Revolt’ to their debut album ‘Chetavni,’ the group has consistently used music as a tool for reflection, resistance, and change.
Ahead of the live performances, we’ll be opening up conversations around the independent music scene through panel discussions, conversations, and explorations of its history. Stay tuned for updates
Live at the Warehouse, a concert series, brings together independent artists who amplify new sounds and divergent thoughts.
